Aromatic & Allied Chemicals

Working out of B-8 in the Industrial Estate over here in C B Ganj can be pretty loud most of the time. Aromatic & Allied Chemicals is basically just a big shed with some smaller rooms for the office stuff. You can usually smell what we’re working on before you even turn the corner onto our street. It’s mostly chemicals, as the name says, so we spend a lot of time wearing masks and gloves, which gets really hot in the summer months. The fans just move the warm air around. We’ve got drums stacked up in the corner and some of them have been there for a while because the orders come in waves. We don't really have a fancy website or a marketing person, so we just answer the phone when it rings and hope the delivery trucks show up on time. The road outside is full of potholes, so getting things in and out can be a bit of a challenge sometimes. We just do our thing, mixing and measuring and making sure the lids are on tight. It’s a lot of manual labor, really. Sometimes the power goes out and we just sit outside and wait for it to come back on. It’s not a glamorous life, but it’s what we know how to do here in the industrial area. We just keep the machines running as much as we can and try to keep the place organized.
