Goodwill India

We are set up in Santi Nagar, which is a pretty decent neighborhood to be in. Our office isn't very large, but it’s enough for what we do at Goodwill India. It’s a single-story building with a small yard in front where we sometimes keep crates. Inside, things are usually a bit cluttered because we always have something new arriving or being sent out. We have a couple of old desks and some plastic chairs for visitors. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but it’s not a priority right now. We spend most of our mornings sorting through things and making lists. It’s a lot of manual work, so we usually wear casual clothes that we don't mind getting a bit dirty. The neighborhood is fairly quiet, which is nice. We know most of the people on this street by name. Sometimes the electricity cuts out for an hour or two in the afternoon, so we just sit outside or work by the light from the windows. We have a small stove in the back room where we boil water for coffee. It’s a very basic setup. There’s no big corporate structure here, just a few of us trying to keep things organized. We don't have any formal meetings, we just talk over whatever needs doing while we work. It’s a practical, everyday kind of place where we just get things done as they come up.
