If you go down to the Post Office and Village Jubila in the Khandogosh area, you’ll find us easily enough. The rice mill has been part of this village landscape for quite some time. We aren’t located in a big city with fancy buildings, just here in the rural part where the fields are close by. Every morning, the local workers show up and we start the process of milling the paddy that comes in from the surrounding farms. It’s noisy and the air gets thick with the smell of grain, but that’s just a normal day for us. We spend a lot of time fixing small things that break or adjusting the settings on the sorters. The weather really dictates how we work, especially when it’s raining and we have to worry about the dampness. We have a few old desks in the corner where we keep the paperwork, but nobody spends much time sitting there. Most of us are on our feet, moving bags or checking the chutes. It’s a simple operation really, focusing on the rice and making sure the bags are tied tight. Sometimes the village elders stop by to talk about the crop prices or just to see what’s happening. Khandogosh is a quiet place overall, and we like being tucked away in Jubila. It’s honest work that keeps the local economy moving a bit. We don't have a big corporate office or anything like that, just the mill and the people who run it.
