Vivekananda International School

Ramkrishna Palli is a quiet village, and that is where you will find us. We are out here in Johlaka, quite a distance from the main city buzz. The school is a big part of the local community. Many of the families here have been sending their children to us for years. The building is a sturdy structure, but it’s simple inside. We have a lot of open space around the school where the grass grows tall if we don't trim it. The mornings are usually foggy during the winter, and we all huddle in our sweaters until the sun comes out. Our desks are old-fashioned and the blackboards have a lot of ghost marks from years of writing. We don't have a big corporate office or a lobby. It’s just a front desk where someone sits to help whoever walks in. Sometimes a stray dog will wander into the yard and we have to shoo it out. Life moves at its own speed in the village. We focus on the daily lessons and making sure the building is locked up tight at night. The staff mostly comes from the nearby houses, so we all know each other well. It’s a practical place without any unnecessary extras. We just try to keep the lights on and the classrooms ready for the next day. It’s honest work and it keeps us busy from dawn till dusk. It's a lot of work but it's what we know.
