Tarzoo Farmer Producer Company Limited

Down in Tarzoo, which is part of Baramulla, is where we have our company. We call it Tarzoo Farmer Producer Company Limited. We use Mohammad Yousuf Bhat’s place in Syeed Colony as our home base. It’s a small spot, but it works for what we need. Most of us in this group have spent our whole lives working the land in Baramulla. We grow different things depending on what the year brings. Farming is unpredictable, and that is why we started this. We wanted to have a way to support each other when things get tough. Mohammad Yousuf is the one who handles the paperwork, which is a big help because most of us would rather be out with the trees or the crops. We are not a corporate entity with a bunch of rules. We are more like a big family of neighbors. We talk about the weather and the pests over lunch. It’s honest work, even if it’s exhausting sometimes. We don't have a marketing department to tell our story. We are just farmers who want to keep our land and make a decent living. If you come to Syeed Colony, you’ll see we are just regular people. We value our work and we value each other. That’s all there is to it. We just keep going together.
