Sabzar Farmer Producer Company Limited is based in Wani Mohalla in Looli Pora. You can find us at Gh Mohd Wani’s place. Baramulla has a lot of farmers, and we decided it was better to combine our efforts. The village is quiet, but there’s always something moving in the fields. We deal with all sorts of crops, depending on what the season allows. It’s a lot of physical labor, and most of us have calloused hands from years of this. We don’t have a fancy website or a marketing team. We just talk to each other across the fences or at the local shop. When we have a meeting, it’s usually just us sitting around in the mohalla, discussing who needs help with their harvest or where we can get better supplies. The office is just a practical space to keep track of who brought in what. It’s not very tidy, but we know where everything is. The weather in Jammu and Kashmir can be unpredictable, so we spend a lot of time worrying about the rain or the early frost. Last year was particularly tough with the late snow, but we managed to get through it. We aren't trying to change the world, we're just trying to make a living off the land we’ve always lived on. Everyone in the group knows each other, so there’s a lot of trust involved. We just keep our heads down and do the work that needs doing every day.
