Meer Enterprises

We are located at Shop No-9 in the Kawaja Gilgit area of Sopore. It’s a small shop, but it keeps us busy from morning until late evening. Being in Baramulla district, we get all kinds of weather, especially the cold winters which make everyone want more tea. Meer Enterprises is just the name on the board outside. Inside, it’s mostly shelves and boxes. I usually open up early to catch the morning crowd. The street outside is always full of life, with people heading to the market or the bus stand. We have a small bench inside where people sometimes sit and chat while we get their orders ready. It’s a local place. We know most of our regulars by name. Sometimes we run out of certain items because the transport was delayed on the highway, but people understand. It’s part of living here. I handle most of the bookkeeping myself in a thick ledger. It’s not a digital setup, just pen and paper. Sopore is a great place to do business because people are honest and straightforward. We don’t try to be anything we aren't. Just a shop selling tea and whatever else is in stock. The floor gets a bit muddy when it rains, but we sweep it out every night. It’s a decent living and we like being part of the community here. Most days are pretty good and we just keep on going one day at a time with a smile.
