Awasthi Traders

Awasthi Traders sits right in Cheda Village, which is part of the Fatehpur Tehsil in District Barabanki. We are very close to the Police Chowki, so it’s a safe enough spot. The village life is slow but we keep ourselves occupied with the daily trade. We have a small shop front and a larger storage area behind it where we keep the bulk of the items. The floor is concrete and we try to sweep it every morning, though the dust from the road always finds its way back in. My family has lived in Barabanki for a long time, so we know a lot of the folks who stop by. We don't have a website or anything like that; people just know we are here by word of mouth. Sometimes a tractor will break down out front and block the entrance for a while, but nobody gets too upset about it. We just wait for them to fix it and keep going. The light in the shop isn't great, but we know where everything is kept even in the dark. We handle a lot of local goods and supplies that the farmers around here need. It’s practical work and it pays the bills. There aren't any fancy suits or big meetings here. It’s just us, some ledgers, and the daily tally of what came in and what went out as the sun goes down.
