M/S Sandipan Das

In the Rashtala area of Bankura district, things move at a pace that we find quite comfortable. M/S Sandipan Das is our business, and it’s a name that has been around the neighborhood for a long time. We don't have a fancy office with air conditioning or expensive furniture. Our setup is very basic and functional because that’s all we really need to get the job done. Most of our day is spent interacting with local people who walk in off the street. We’ve known some of these families for generations. Bankura is the kind of place where your reputation is built on how you treat people every day, not on some advertisement in a newspaper. We don't have a website or a social media page because word of mouth has always worked just fine for us. The building we are in has seen better days, but it has a lot of history and it’s where we feel at home. Sometimes we sit on the wooden benches out front and just watch the world go by when things are slow. We don't use a lot of complicated technology; mostly just a ledger and some pens. It might seem old-fashioned to some, but it works for us and we haven't seen a reason to change it. We just focus on being reliable and being there when people need us. It’s a quiet life, but it’s one that we are very proud of.
