Kundu Variety Store

This is Kundu Variety Store. We are located in Chandidas Pally, which is in the Chhatna area. It’s a small neighborhood shop. We keep things that people need every day like snacks, biscuits, and some bottled drinks. We also have a few household items on the shelves. It’s not one of those big stores with aisles. It’s just a counter and some wall space. I’ve lived in Chandidas Pally my whole life. I decided to open this store because there wasn't one very close to our houses. It’s a quiet life for the most part. I spend most of my day sitting here talking to the neighbors when they stop by. Sometimes it’s slow, and I just read the paper or listen to the radio. We don't have a computer or anything to scan the items. I just know the prices and write them down. Chhatna is a nice place, but it’s quite far from any big city. We don't have a big company name or a brand to show off. It’s just the store. My wife helps me out sometimes when I have to go out and pick up more stock. We don’t have a delivery truck, so I usually go get things myself. The shop has a simple roof and can get quite hot in the summer months. We have a small fan that helps a bit. People come here to catch up on the local news as much as they do to buy things. It’s just a regular part of the village.
