S R Electronics is situated in Shakthi Nager, over by the Dooravani Nager Post office in Bangalore. It’s a busy little pocket of the city. We’ve been operating out of this spot for quite some years now. The shop is pretty basic. We have a counter, some storage racks, and a space where we do all the technical work. Bangalore is known for tech, but we keep things on a very practical, local level. We aren’t a big shiny showroom. Our floors are a bit worn and the walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but it’s a working shop, not a gallery. We get a mix of regulars who have been coming to us for a decade and new people who just moved to Shakthi Nager. Every day is a bit different depending on what people bring in. Sometimes it’s a quick fix, other times we are scratching our heads for hours trying to figure out a problem. We don’t have any slick sales pitches. We just talk to people like normal neighbors. It’s a good way to run a business because everyone knows what to expect. We stay open during the usual hours, and you can usually hear the radio playing in the background while we work. It’s just a simple, honest electronics shop. If you’re in the 560016 area, you’ve probably passed us once or twice. We’re still here, doing the same work we’ve always done for everyone around.
