Our spot is located right at the Talcher Thermal area, specifically in the quarters at F/73, Section 1. Being so close to the Ntpc and Ttps plants means we see a lot of the workers and their families coming in. The district of Angul can be a loud place with all the industrial activity, but our little section here feels a bit more like a community. We deal with all sorts of electronic issues, mostly things that break down in the homes around the township. It’s a practical setup we have here. The room isn't huge, but we have enough space for the tools and the spare parts we need to keep on hand. You can usually find us surrounded by wires and testing equipment. It gets a bit crowded when a few people come in at once, especially after the shift changes at the plant. We’ve become used to the specific rhythm of the thermal power station life. People stop by on their way home to drop something off or just to ask a quick question about a device that isn't working right. We don't use any fancy systems to manage things; we just write it down on a pad and get to it when it’s next in line. It is honest work and it keeps us connected to the folks living in the quarters. We have been here for a good while and plan to stay.
