If you find yourself on Killari Road 4, you’ll probably hear our machines before you see the door. We’ve been running Prakash Graphics out of this spot for quite some time. The space is a bit cramped because of all the paper stocks and the various printers we’ve squeezed in over the years. Ink stains on the floor are just part of the decor now, and there’s always that specific smell of fresh print in the air. We don't have a big reception desk or anything, just a counter where we talk to whoever walks in. People come by with all sorts of requests, some small and some that take us all night to finish. It gets a bit chaotic when three different jobs are running at once, but we manage to keep track of it all. The lighting isn't the best in the back corner, so we use a desk lamp when we’re doing the fine details. Killari Road can be a nightmare for parking, so we’re used to people double-parking just to run in and grab their stuff. We try to keep things moving so nobody gets a ticket from the traffic police. Most of our days are spent checking proofs and refilling toner. It's not a glamorous job, but seeing a finished stack of cards or flyers ready to go gives us a bit of satisfaction. We’re just local people doing what we know how to do for the folks in this neighborhood.
