Iqbal Films

We operate out of the Sai Heritage Housing Society over on Aloma County Road 29. Gandhi Nagar is a decent place to be based. We do film work, which sounds a lot more glamorous than it actually is. Most of our time at Iqbal Films is spent sitting in front of screens or moving heavy equipment around. The office is basically just one of the units in the society that we converted. It’s full of cables and hard drives. We started this because we liked movies and wanted to be part of making them. It’s a lot of long hours and late nights, especially when a project is finishing up. We don't have a big studio with lights and actors everywhere. Most of the real work happens here in the quiet. The neighbors are used to us by now, even when we’re hauling boxes in at odd hours. We drink a lot of coffee to stay awake during the edits. It’s not a polished corporate environment. There are usually empty takeout containers and notebooks scattered around. We just focus on the footage and try to make it look decent. It’s a small setup, just a few of us who really know how to handle the gear. We don't spend money on fancy signs or decor. All the budget goes into the equipment we use. That's just how we prefer to do things and keep moving forward with our projects.
