Our office is situated at Plot No 709 in the Kamakshi Society, Sector 7, over in Malleshwaram. Being at 39/40 means we are right in the middle of a settled residential neighborhood. Malleshwaram has that old Bangalore charm, and you can always hear the bells from the temples or the sounds of the vegetable market not too far away. The society itself is quite peaceful, with a lot of greenery and old houses. Our building is a solid, older structure with high ceilings and heavy wooden doors. Inside, we have a bit of a cluttered setup because we have been here for a long time and have accumulated a lot of things. There are stacks of old ledgers and a few wooden cupboards that have a bit of a musty smell. We don’t have modern cubicles; instead, we have some large tables where we all sit together. The lighting is a bit dim in some corners, so we use old floor lamps to brighten things up. In the mornings, someone usually brings in fresh filter coffee, and the whole place smells great for an hour or so. We have a small porch where we sometimes sit for a few minutes if the weather is nice. It’s a very relaxed way to work, far away from the stress of the city’s business hubs. We know all the people in the society, and they often stop to say hello if they see us near the gate.
