Vividhlakshi Vidyamandir

Vividhlakshi Vidyamandir is located right in Deesa. If you know Banaskantha, you know how hot it gets here, especially in the middle of the year. Our school building is built to handle that, with thick walls and some fans that work pretty hard. We don’t have any of those modern glass windows; we prefer the ones that let the air move through. The school is a big part of the Deesa community. Many parents who went here now send their own kids to us. It’s a bit of a tradition. The yard is usually full of bicycles because that’s how most of the older kids get around. We have a few trees that we’ve tried to grow over the years, and they provide a bit of green in the dusty landscape. Inside, things are pretty straightforward. We have the usual classrooms and a small office where the paperwork gets done. We don't have a receptionist in a fancy outfit. You usually just walk in and find someone to talk to. The teachers are busy with their lesson plans and grading papers. During the break, the noise level goes way up, but that’s just how it is with hundreds of kids in one place. We focus on the day-to-day things, like making sure the chalk is stocked and the benches aren't broken. It’s a busy, noisy, and very real place to be. We just keep going, year after year.
