Our place is way out in Sadarpur, which is part of the Palanpur Taluka in the Banaskantha district. If you are coming from the main parts of North Gujarat, it feels quite rural out here. We just go by the name Engg. on most of our local records. The office is right at the post office location, which makes it easy for the mailman at least. The surroundings are mostly fields and open space, so it is a lot quieter than the big cities. The air is a bit dusty, especially when the wind picks up in the afternoon. Our building is a simple structure that does not have any of the modern glass and steel you see elsewhere. It is just a practical space where we handle our engineering tasks. We don't have high-speed elevators or fancy coffee machines. We usually just have tea from the local shop or make some ourselves on a small stove in the corner. The pace of life here is a bit slower, which we don't mind at all. Most people in the village know us, so we don't need a lot of signs. It is an honest living, and we just take each day as it comes, working through the paperwork and the technical stuff that needs our attention.
