Vivek Brick Field

Our brick field is located in Village and Post Office Harriya, which is part of Taluka Satgharwa in the Balrampur district. If you are looking for us, we are right near the Hanuman Temple. It is a good landmark because everyone knows where it is. We have a lot of space out here, which is good because bricks take up a lot of room while they are drying out in the sun. Vivek Brick Field has been a part of this landscape for a long time. We follow the seasons; when the monsoon comes, things have to slow down because the ground gets too soft and the bricks won't set right. It is a lot of waiting on the weather, to be honest. We have a lot of workers who stay on-site in small huts during the peak season. It’s a hard life, working with earth and fire, but it’s what we know. We don’t have any fancy brochures or a sales team. If you want bricks, you come down to the field and talk to the foreman. We’ll show you what’s ready and what needs more time. There is always a lot of smoke and dust, but that’s the nature of a brick field. We just keep doing what we’ve always done, one batch at a time. It’s a long process, but seeing the kiln opened is always a good feeling after all the work.
