Sandur Residential School

Down here in Sandur, which is part of the Bellary district, you'll find Sandur Residential School. Being a residential place means the students stay with us, so it’s more than just a daytime thing. The campus is tucked away in a quieter part of the region, away from the main city rush. It’s got a bit of an old-fashioned feel to it. We have dormitories where the kids sleep and a dining hall where everyone eats together. Life here follows a very specific clock. From the early morning wake-up call to the time the lights go out at night, there is always something happening. The grounds are fairly large, which gives the students space to walk around or play sports in the evenings. It can get quite hot in Bellary, so we try to keep the rooms as cool as possible. We aren't a corporate chain; we're just a local institution that's been around for a while. The staff lives close by or on the grounds, so we are always around if something is needed. It’s a lot of responsibility looking after kids 24/7, but we've gotten used to it. The 583119 area is our home. We don't have fancy marketing brochures or anything like that. It's just a place where children live and learn together, making do with what we have and focusing on the daily lessons.
