Om Organic Cotton Private Limited

Down in the village of Kurli, near the Kantabanji post office in Odisha, is where we do our thing with organic cotton. It’s a very different vibe than the big cities. Life moves a bit slower here, and we like it that way. We spend our days dealing with the cotton crops and the local farmers. It’s dusty work and you definitely get your hands dirty. We aren't sitting in air-conditioned offices all day. Most of the time, we are out checking the quality of the fibers or talking to folks in the village. The post office in Kantabanji is our main link to the rest of the world for mail and stuff. Working with organic cotton means we have to pay attention to how things are grown. It’s a lot of manual labor and waiting on the weather to cooperate. Sometimes the rain doesn't come when you want it to, or it comes too much. That’s just farming life. Our setup is pretty simple. We have a small space for storage and some basic equipment for processing. We don't have any corporate slogans or polished presentations. We just know cotton. People in Kurli know us, and we know them. It’s a community-based effort. We wake up early, get to work while it’s still cool, and try to make the best of what the land gives us. It’s honest, hard work and we are proud to be doing it here in this part of Odisha.
