Sahely Fancy

Our shop is on Village Basti Road in Loisingha. It is near the railway gate, so we hear the trains passing by all day long. It is a small place in the Balangir district of Odisha, right off NH26. I sell fancy items like bangles, ribbons, and small gifts for children. The shop is quite colorful because of all the things hanging from the ceiling and packed into the glass cases. People from the village come in when they have a wedding or a local festival coming up. I spend a lot of time dusting the shelves because the road outside is quite busy and kicks up a lot of dirt into the air. It is a friendly place. Sometimes people just come in to show me their new clothes and see what matching accessories I have. I do not have any big signs or expensive advertisements. The neighborhood knows where I am. The railway gate stays closed often, and people waiting for the train sometimes pop in to look around while they wait. It is a simple way to spend the day. I have been here for several years now. The space is small, so I have to be careful about how much I buy from the wholesalers. My daughter helps me out sometimes during the busy seasons. It is not a big city mall, just a local shop for the people living around Loisingha. I like the rhythm of the village life and seeing the same faces every week.
