Sri Sadguru Furnitures

We spend most of our time in the workshop at Papireddy Nagar. It’s usually covered in sawdust and smells like wood glue. My father started things here and now we just keep the tradition going at Plot No B 201 and 202. We make basic things like beds, wardrobes, and those sturdy dining tables that last for decades. Jagadgirigutta is a busy area, so there is always someone coming in asking about a broken chair or wanting a new cupboard for their bedroom. We don't use those fancy machines you see in big factories. A lot of what we do is still done by hand with saws and chisels. Sometimes the wood takes longer to dry than we want, which slows things down, but you can’t rush it. Dealing with the heat in Balanagar during the summer makes the polishing work difficult, yet we manage. We aren't a big showroom with lights and sales staff. It’s just us and a few helpers moving heavy planks around. Our customers are mostly neighbors and people from the nearby blocks who want something that won't fall apart in two years. We often have stacks of plywood waiting near the door. It gets cramped in the shop when we have three different orders going at once. We just try to keep the quality decent and the prices where people can actually afford them. Even if we are just a small spot in the Dist area, we take pride in our joints and finishes. We enjoy seeing a finished piece of furniture go out on a rickshaw.
