Priya Marbles

Priya Marbles sits right across from the Sujan Dharamshala on G.H. Road here in Balaghat. It’s a familiar spot for most people in town. We have been operating out of this location for a long time. The shop is simple, mostly just a display of the different stones we keep in the back. G.H. Road is usually quite active, so we see a lot of people passing by every day. We don't have any corporate training or scripted things to say. When a customer walks in, we just talk to them like a neighbor. We show them the marble slabs we have available and explain where they came from. Some are local, some come from further away. Working with stone is heavy work, and our clothes usually show it by midday. We don’t mind. It’s better to be busy than sitting around. Sometimes we help people figure out how much they need for a floor or a bathroom, but we don't try to push them into buying the most expensive thing. We just give them the facts. Balaghat is a place where word of mouth matters more than anything else. If we do a decent job, people tell their cousins or friends. That’s how we’ve stayed open all these years. It’s a quiet, steady kind of business. We just open the doors in the morning and see who the day brings in through the entrance.
