Oriental Bed College

Oriental Bed College is right on Balaghat Road in Lalbarra. We have been here for a good while now, and most people in Balaghat know the spot. It is not a very big or fancy building, just a practical place where students come to get their teaching degrees. The road outside can get quite busy with trucks and buses passing through, so there is usually a bit of noise during the day. We have several classrooms and a small area for the staff to sit. It’s a simple setup. Students usually arrive early in the morning, and the hallways stay crowded until the afternoon. We don’t have a big cafeteria or anything like that, so most folks just bring their own lunch or find something nearby. The weather in this part of Madhya Pradesh gets really hot in the summer, which makes the afternoons feel a bit long. We just keep the fans going and try to stay focused on the books. It’s not a corporate environment at all. It is just a local college where people from the nearby villages come to study. We deal with the usual things like paperwork and fixing the furniture when it breaks. It is a very normal place, and we like it that way. No one here is trying to be anything other than a local teacher training center. We just open the doors every morning and do the work that needs doing for the community around us.
