R K Public School

Our school is located in Village Sekhui Kalan, right near the Post Office in Bhagautiganj. We are situated along National Highway 730, not far from the Bahraich Road. Because we are right on the highway, we hear the constant hum of cars and trucks going past all day long. It’s a very rural spot otherwise, surrounded by fields and small houses. The school building itself is straightforward, made of brick and mortar with a small yard in the front where the buses park. We have a few dozen classrooms and they all look pretty much the same with their rows of desks and the teachers' tables at the front. Sekhui Kalan is a place where everyone knows everyone, so the school feels like a bit of a community hub. We don't put on any airs or pretend to be something we aren't. It's just a place for the village kids to come and study their subjects. The walls have some old posters on them and the floors are easy to sweep clean at the end of the day. During the monsoon, the ground gets a bit muddy around the entrance, but we just put down some planks and keep going. We don't have a big office or a reception area with sofas. Usually, if a parent wants to talk, they just find us in the hallway or the staff room. It’s just a plain, hardworking school on the side of a busy road.
