If you head over to HSIIDC Bahadurgarh, you’ll find us at 45B in Sector-17. Kumar Footcare is a place where we think a lot about feet, though mostly about what people put on them. The factory area here is always loud with the sound of machines and people shouting over the hum. We’ve got a decent-sized space where we store materials and finished shoes. It’s a bit dusty, as you’d expect from a place that works with fabrics and rubbers. We spend our days checking how the soles look and making sure the stitching is decent. It’s hard work, and by the end of the day, our own feet are usually pretty tired. There isn't much in the way of air conditioning in the main work area, so we rely on big ceiling fans to keep the air moving. We aren't a corporate giant with a thousand rules. We’re more like a big family where everyone knows what their job is. We take lunch breaks together and sometimes share snacks. The area in Bahadurgarh is perfect for this kind of work because everything we need is nearby. We don't have a fancy mission statement or a polished brand image. We just make footwear that people can actually wear without it falling apart. It’s simple, honest production. Sometimes a machine breaks down and we all have to pitch in to fix it, which can be a real mess. Every box that gets loaded onto a truck is something we’re proud of.
