This place in Bahadurgarh stays pretty active most of the time. We are located over in Sector-16, right near the Kassar area. If you’re coming from the main road, you’ll see a lot of other factories around here, but we’ve been at this spot for quite a bit. Inside Somany Ceramics, it’s mostly about the tiles and the kilns. The heat from the ovens is always there, even in the winter months when it gets cold outside in Haryana. We walk the floor a lot, checking on the lines and making sure nothing is jamming up. It’s a big space, so your legs get a workout by the end of the shift. The trucks come in and out of the yard all day long. Sometimes the gate gets a bit crowded when three or four drivers show up at the same time wanting to load. We just tell them to wait their turn and grab a seat. It's not always smooth, equipment breaks down or the power flutters, and then we have to scramble to get things moving again. We eat our lunch in the small break room or sometimes just standing near the loading dock if it’s a busy afternoon. It’s just honest work. Nobody here wears a suit. We wear boots and work shirts that get dirty. That’s the reality of making ceramics in an industrial area like this one. We just keep our heads down and do the job.
