Our place is located on Badli Road, right along National Highway 54. If you are looking for us, the easiest way is to find Metro Pillar No. 846, as we are right near there. It’s a busy spot with the metro overhead and the cars rushing by on the Chautala Road side. Working at a bhatta is sweaty, dirty business, especially when the sun is beating down on the open ground. We have a crew that stays on-site, and they’ve been with us for years. It’s not a polished operation with a reception desk or anything like that. You just walk onto the dirt and find someone. We spend most of our time keeping the fires going and making sure the clay is mixed right. It’s a lot of manual labor, but that’s how you get things built. Sometimes the trucks get backed up because of the traffic near the metro pillar, which can be a real pain in the afternoon. We don’t spend money on advertising or fancy brochures. People just know we are here because of the smoke from the chimney and the stacks of finished bricks. We deal with all sorts of people, from small homeowners to big contractors. Everyone gets treated the same way. We just try to get the orders out on time and keep the yard running smoothly without too much fuss. It is just an honest day's work for us on the edge of the road.
