Nandi Sugars

Our business, Nandi Sugars, is found at 254/84 in Krishna Nagar, over in the Bagalkot district. We’ve been in this part of Taluka for quite a while. The area is mostly residential and small businesses, so it feels like a community. Our building is a simple one, nothing too modern or flashy. We spend most of our time dealing with sugar, which means there’s always something to be weighed or moved around. It can be heavy work, especially during the peak seasons. We have a small office area where we keep the ledger books and a telephone that rings more than we’d like. The staff is just a small group of local people who know the sugar trade well. We don't use any fancy software; we just write things down and check them twice. Bagalkot can get very hot, so the shade in our warehouse is where we usually hang out during the midday break. Sometimes the water supply is a bit spotty, but we have a tank to get us through. We aren't a big corporation with a board of directors. It’s just us trying to run a decent business in Krishna Nagar. We focus on the daily tasks and making sure the sugar gets to where it’s going without too much trouble. It’s a bit messy and loud sometimes, but that’s just how a sugar place is. We just do our best to stay organized and keep the local supply moving.
