Shifa Cement Shop

You can find Shifa Cement Shop right on National Highway 218 in Kerur. It is a busy road and the trucks never seem to stop going past. Because of all that traffic, everything in the shop gets covered in a layer of thin dust by the end of the day. We have been selling cement here for quite some time now. The shop is small and mostly filled with bags stacked up high. It is heavy work and my back usually aches by the evening. We don't have any air conditioning so we just keep the doors open to catch whatever breeze comes off the highway. Kerur is a small town and most of our customers are locals or builders working on nearby houses. Sometimes someone stops by just because they saw our sign from the road and they need directions. We try to be helpful when we can. My cousin works here with me and we take turns handling the deliveries. We have a small area in the back where we keep the records and sit down for a break. The sign outside is a bit faded from the sun but people still find us easily enough. We don't have any big plans to expand or anything. We just want to keep the shop running and make enough to get by. It is a simple life out here on the highway.
