Kavin Garments

Our place is out in Devampalayam, specifically at Kuppankattu Thottam. If you’re trying to find us on a map or asking for directions, it’s S. F. No. 202/1 near the Palangarai Post. It’s a bit of a trek if you aren't from around this part of the country, but it’s a good spot for a garment setup. We have more room here than we would in the middle of a crowded city center. The air is a bit clearer and there is plenty of space for the supplies to come in and out without too much trouble from traffic. We spend our days dealing with the usual garment work—measuring, cutting, and making sure the finishing is okay on every piece. It’s a lot of repetitive stuff, but that’s the nature of the business we are in. We don't have any corporate managers or anything like that, just a few of us making sure the orders are handled. The building is a bit older and has some character, but it serves its purpose well for what we do. Sometimes we have to wait for the post to arrive at Palangarai to get our paperwork sorted. It’s a quiet life for the most part, except for the noise of the sewing machines running. We’ve stayed in this area because it’s where we started and it feels like home to us. There’s always a stack of fabric waiting to be turned into something, and we just chip away at it every single day.
