Vidya Books

Vidya Books is situated on the road that goes from Aurangpura Signal to Gulmandi. It is a very busy street with a lot of different shops. We are located right opposite Mainframe Computers. If you happen to see Crystal Readymades, we are just besides them. It is a great location because there is always someone passing by the window. We have stacks of books everywhere inside. Sometimes it feels like the books are taking over the whole shop. We try to keep things organized, but it is hard when new shipments arrive every week. Aurangapura is a place where people still really like to read physical books. We see a lot of students and teachers coming in every day. The shop is not very large, so we have to use every inch of wall space for our shelves. We even have a small ladder to reach the top rows. It gets quite loud with all the traffic outside, but we do not mind it much anymore. We have been on this road for many years now. People know us as the place next to the clothing store. We do not do any big promotions or sales. We just open the shutters in the morning and wait for people to come in. It is a simple life surrounded by paper and ink. My father started this business many years ago. I took over after he retired. It is a good way to spend the day if you like being around books.
