Saraswati Book Center

Saraswati Book Center is situated on Aurangapur Road in Fazalpura, not far from Shivsena Bhawan. We’ve been running this shop for years, and it’s become a bit of a local landmark for people looking for stationery and books. The interior is quite narrow, so we’ve had to build shelves all the way up to the ceiling. You might need us to use the ladder to reach some of the older stock. We don't have a fancy computer system to track every single item. We mostly rely on our memory and a notebook we keep by the cash box. It gets a bit hot in the summer because the shop doesn't have much ventilation, but we keep a fan going. We aren't part of some big chain. It’s just a family-run spot where we do our best to help the local students and readers. We don't use big words or try to impress anyone. We’re just here to sell books and make a living. Sometimes the delivery truck blocks the road for a minute, and the neighbors complain, but we all get along. People stop in to check the news or just to see what’s new on the racks. It’s a simple, honest business. We don't have a mission statement or anything like that. We just open the shutters in the morning and wait for the first customer to walk in.
