Taufique Kirana

Taufique Kirana is a small, quiet place located on Station Road in the Silk Mill Colony area. Aurangabad can get pretty hot during the middle of the day, so we usually try to keep the front of the shop shaded with a cloth. We sell all the regular kitchen stuff you would expect to find, like different types of dal, ground spices, and big bags of atta. I started this place because I wanted to work for myself and stay close to my home and family. The station road is always moving with people catching trains or heading into the center of the city. We get some of those travelers stopping in, but mostly it is the people who live in the apartments and small houses nearby. I spend a lot of my time cleaning the glass jars and making sure everything looks decent on the shelves. It is not a fancy supermarket with air conditioning or bright music playing. It is just a local shop with a plain cement floor and wooden shelves that have been here for a long time. Sometimes the supply of certain things gets a bit low, but I try my best to get whatever people ask me for. My son helps me out in the evenings after he finishes his daily studies. We stay open until about nine or ten at night most days. There is not much to say about us, really. We are just here every day.
