Samay Industries

Down at C243 Waluj Midc, the day starts early before the sun gets too high and the heat becomes unbearable. Samay Industries is basically just a big shed full of machinery and raw materials. We don't have a fancy lobby or a receptionist; you just walk in past the loading dock and find someone in overalls. My job is mostly making sure the production line doesn't stop because once things go quiet, it’s hard to get the momentum back. The sound of the metal being stamped and the hiss of the air compressors is what I hear all day. We make parts that most people will never see, but they are important for whatever machine they end up in. I spend a lot of time checking the inventory of the raw stock and making sure the outgoing crates are labeled correctly. The floor is concrete and hard on the feet, so we all wear thick boots. During the break, we sit on plastic chairs near the main gate to get some fresh air away from the smell of the grease. It’s a tough environment sometimes, especially when a machine breaks down and we have to spend the night fixing it. We aren't trying to be the biggest factory in Waluj, just the one that gets the orders out on time without any mistakes. It’s honest, heavy work that keeps us busy from morning till late.
