Sailani General Store

You can find Sailani General Store on Khadkeshware Road, right next to Sai Plaza here in Aurangabad. Being next to a big building like that means we get a lot of people just passing through. I have to keep the shop looking okay, even though it’s just a small place. I sell a lot of snacks, cold drinks, and basic groceries. The competition around here is quite a bit, so I try to make sure I have things that people actually want. I handle all the orders myself, talking to the guys who bring the crates of soda and the bags of snacks. The shop gets a bit hot in the afternoons because the sun hits the front window directly, so I usually hang a cloth to keep the glare out. It’s just me running things most of the time. I have a small radio that I listen to while I wait for customers. I don't have a big fancy sign, just the name painted above the door. Most people come in for something quick like a pack of matches or some chewing gum. I try to keep the staples like salt and sugar in stock so the local housewives don't have to go too far. It’s a decent little spot on a busy road. I’ve been here long enough that I don't think about it much, I just do the work and go home. I hope to keep it going as long as the knees hold up and the neighbors keep coming.
