Our place, Bhogale Coating Paints Pvt. Ltd., is over at B-5 in the MIDC Area. It’s a typical industrial plot. You can usually tell when you’re getting close because of the faint smell of paint and solvents in the air. It’s not a bad smell, just part of the job. We’ve got a couple of mixing vats and a lot of storage for the raw materials and the finished cans. The floor is stained with about a dozen different colors of paint from various spills over the years. We don't bother trying to scrub it off anymore; it just adds character to the place. We use a lot of tape. We are a small team and we mostly just get on with the mixing and the packing. It’s a lot of manual work, lifting heavy bags and moving drums around. We don't have a big corporate structure here. The person answering the phone is probably the same person who was just helping out in the back. We wear overalls that are covered in spots and we don't worry about looking tidy. The office is just a small partitioned area with a computer and a printer that jams way too often. We like the work because it’s tangible. You can see what you’ve made at the end of the day. It’s a straightforward business in a straightforward area. We’ve been here at B-5 for a while and we plan to stay.
