We have Shop No. 22 in Kailash Market. It's right on the corner where Station Road meets Aurangapura Road. Being near the Bhaji Mandi means it's always crowded and there's a lot of shouting and activity from the vegetable sellers early in the morning. We do fabrication work, so you’ll usually hear the sound of welding or metal cutting coming from our unit. It is a small shop, but we pack a lot into it. There are scraps of iron and steel piled up in the corners, and the floor is usually dark from the soot. We make gates, window grills, and sometimes small frames for local shops. It is basic manual labor. People stop by on their way to the market to ask for small repairs or to get a quote for a railing. We don't have a website or a fancy catalog, we just show people what we’ve built before or draw it out on a piece of scrap paper. The heat from the welding torch makes the shop pretty stuffy, especially in the afternoons. We’ve been in this part of Aurangapura for a long time, so we know the other shop owners in Kailash Market well. It's a busy, noisy life, but we like being right in the middle of everything where the people are. We just focus on getting the welds strong and the measurements right so the gates don't sag. It isn't pretty, but it's solid work that lasts.
