Pradeep General Store

Mahalgao is a quiet place, and our shop is right there for whatever the village needs. Being in the Vaijapur area of Aurangabad, we get people stopping by on their way to the fields or the market. Pradeep General Store is just a small room filled with shelves. We carry everything from washing powder to small toys for the kids. It’s funny how much stuff you can fit in a small space if you try. The floor is concrete and we sweep it out every morning before the sun gets too high. We see the same elders sitting nearby every day. They know us, and we know them. It’s not a business with a lot of rules; we just open the doors and help whoever comes in. Sometimes the delivery truck is late because the roads from Aurangabad Ho are a bit rough, but we make do with what we have on the shelves. In the monsoon, the rain hits the tin roof so loud we can barely hear the customers. Those are the days when we just sit and watch the water flow down the street. It’s a basic life here in Mahalgao. We don't need much more than a steady supply of goods and the local people coming by to say hello. It feels good to be a part of this community in Vejapur.
