Pawan Kumar General Store

My name is Pawan, and I run the Pawan Kumar General Store right across from Balaji Mangal Karyalay in Balaji Nagar. Being near a wedding hall means we see a lot of different faces every weekend. People come running in because they forgot something for the ceremony or need a quick snack while they wait for the baraat to arrive. It gets quite loud and lively around here. The shop itself is nothing fancy, just a room filled with stuff people need every day. I spend most of my time reorganizing the shelves or checking what’s running low in the back. Sometimes the kids from the neighborhood come in with just a few rupees, and it takes them forever to pick out one piece of candy. I don't mind though. It’s a good spot in Aurangabad, and we’ve been here long enough that most people know where to find us. The sun hits the front of the store in the afternoon, so it gets a bit warm inside. I usually have the radio playing some old songs in the background while I wait for the next customer. We carry everything from soap to notebooks, basically whatever fits on the shelves. It’s a lot of work keeping everything straight, especially when several people come in at once asking for different things. But we manage. Balaji Nagar is a nice place to work, and having the store right here feels right for us. We just keep the door open and wait to see who walks in next. It’s a simple business.
