Panday Sons & Co. is situated in Ahinsa Nagar, right across from the Big Baazar on Jalna Road. It’s a prime spot because that road is always busy with people heading to the shops or commuting to work. Our building is easy to spot, but once you step inside, it feels like a regular family-run place. There are usually boxes stacked in the corners and someone is always on the phone talking to a supplier or a customer. It’s not very organized to look at, but we know where everything is. My father and brothers are usually around, and we all pitch in with whatever needs doing. We’ve been at this for a long time, so we’ve seen the whole area grow up around us. When Big Baazar opened across the street, it changed the traffic quite a bit, but we just adapted. We don't have any big corporate mission or anything like that. We just open up in the morning, handle the daily business, and close up when the sun goes down. There’s a lot of chatting that goes on, as many of our customers are also our friends. Sometimes we sit on the benches outside when it’s not too hot and watch the cars go by on Jalna Road. It’s a straightforward business and we don't try to make it seem like more than it is. We’re just the Panday family running our shop and helping out the people who stop in. It’s been that way for years and we don’t plan on changing it.
