Om Shanti General Store

Om Shanti General Store has been on Samarth Nager Road in Aurangabad for quite a long time. We are very close to the Ganesh Mandir, so our mornings usually start quite early. People visit the temple for their prayers and then they walk over to our shop to pick up things like incense sticks, milk, or fresh bread for breakfast. It is a nice, calm part of Samarthnagar to work in. Our shop is not very large, but we make sure to use every bit of shelf space we have. We stock all the regular kitchen supplies like dals, spices, and cleaning products. Sometimes the local children come in with a few coins to buy some candy or small toys we keep near the front. We really like seeing the same faces every day. Aurangabad has grown into a big city, but this little corner near the mandir still feels like a small village sometimes. We do not have any complicated business plans. We just open the doors early and stay until the evening is over. If something is out of stock, we just head to the main market to get more the next day. It is a simple way to run a business. We know most of the families who live in the houses around here, and it feels more like being part of a community than just running a shop.
