Deepak General Store

We’ve been here at Shiv Shankar Colony for some years now. Most people know us around Tanaji Chowk as Deepak General Store. It is just me and some family helping out most days. We keep things like soap, biscuits, and recharge cards. Sometimes it gets really busy in the evenings when everyone is coming home from work and they stop by for milk or something they forgot. The weather in Aurangabad can be tough, especially in summer, so we try to keep the drinks cold. It's not a big supermarket, just a small place where you can find what you need quickly without a lot of fuss. I usually open up early in the morning because people need bread and eggs for breakfast. Dealing with the distributors takes up a lot of my time in the afternoons. We try to keep the shelves stocked, but sometimes things run out before the next delivery comes. If you live nearby, you've probably seen us sitting outside when there are no customers. It is a quiet life but we know almost everyone on this street by name. My kids sometimes help after school too. We aren't doing anything fancy here, just running the shop as best as we can. Shiv Shankar Colony has changed a lot since we started, more houses now and more traffic near the chowk. We just keep doing our thing every day from morning until night. It gets tiring but it is our way of making a living in this neighborhood.
