Abhi General Store

I have been running Abhi General Store in Balaji Nagar for a while now. Aurangabad is a big city but this neighborhood feels smaller. People know each other and they stop by to ask how things are going. The address is easy to find if you know the area well. My day starts with checking the inventory. I write things down on a scrap of paper so I don't forget what to buy for the next week. Sometimes I run out of things faster than I expected. That is usually a good thing but it means more work for me. The shop is filled with everything from pens to bags of rice. I try to keep the dust off the jars but it is a losing battle in the dry season. The counter is a bit old and has some scratches on it. I don't mind. It shows that the store has been used. I don't use any computers or anything fancy to track sales. I just use a diary and my memory. Sometimes I get tired of the same routine but then a regular customer comes in and we talk for ten minutes about nothing special. It makes the day go faster. Balaji Nagar has changed over the years with more houses being built. I just stay here and keep the shelves stocked for whoever needs something. It is a quiet existence but it keeps me busy enough every single day.
