Our shop is located on Asansol Trod 14. Being in the Burdwan district means we deal with a lot of dust getting into the machines. Computers are sensitive things. We spend a lot of time cleaning out fans and keyboards. It's a small place. There are wires everywhere on the workbench. Sometimes it feels a bit cluttered but we know where everything is. People bring in laptops that have seen better days. Screens are cracked or the battery just won't hold a charge anymore. We do what we can with the tools we have. Sometimes we have to wait a few days for a specific part to come in the mail. That’s just part of the business. The light in the back of the shop flickers a little. I’ve been meaning to fix that for a month now. We have a stool for customers to sit on while they explain what’s wrong with their tech. Most of them are locals who live around Trod 14. We see the same faces quite often. It’s not like those big electronics stores in the city. We don’t wear uniforms or anything like that. Just regular clothes that usually end up with a bit of thermal paste on them. It’s honest work and it keeps us busy from morning until late evening. Asansol can be a loud place but inside the shop it’s mostly just the sound of clicking keys.
