Hanuman Traders

You can find Hanuman Traders over on Thiruvallurvar Street. Our address is a bit funny because it has an old number, 56, and a new number, 113, but it’s the same building. We are right opposite the Panchayat Office in Tharapadavedu. It’s a good landmark because everyone knows where the office is. The street gets quite a bit of activity, especially with people coming to the government building. We’ve been here for years, watching the street change bit by bit. Inside, it’s just a normal trading setup. We have shelves and some old furniture where we do our bookkeeping. It’s not very modern, but it suits us just fine. We start our mornings by sweeping the front and getting things ready for whoever might drop by. Tharapadavedu has a lot of small businesses like ours, so we know most of the people who work nearby. We don’t spend much time on fancy things, we just focus on the items we trade and making sure the counts are correct. Sometimes the humidity is a bit high, but we just keep the doors open for a breeze. It is a simple life of buying and selling. We finish up in the evening once the street starts to quiet down and the Panchayat office closes. It’s just the way we have always done things here on Thiruvallurvar Street. Nothing much else to it, really, just a day's work.
