Bharat Mata Higher Secondary School

Our school is located in Pandav Nagar, over in the Sohagpur area of Shahdol. It’s a well-known spot around here. The building is big and stands out on the street. We have a lot of students, so it’s always a bit chaotic in the mornings when everyone arrives at once. We don't have any polished marketing slogans to give you. We just provide a place for kids to come and study. The classrooms are basic, with wooden benches that have been around for a long time. You can see where students have carved their names into some of them over the years. We have a decent-sized area for sports, though it’s mostly just dirt and some patches of grass. The teachers here are mostly from the local area, so we know the families pretty well. It’s a community feeling. We have to deal with things like leaky pipes or a shortage of chalk sometimes, but we make do with what we have. It’s not always perfect, and the building could use a fresh coat of paint, but it works. We focus on the daily tasks of teaching and keeping the place organized. It’s a lot of paper work and talking to parents. We’re just a regular school trying to do a good job for the kids in Shahdol. We hope they leave here with some decent memories.
