About Maharana Cement Tiles – Building & Construction Material in Angul
Maharana Cement Tiles is located right at Hemsurpada Chowk, across from the Durga Mandap. It’s a landmark everyone around here knows. If you see the big temple area, we are just on the other side. We make and sell cement tiles for floors and walkways. It is dusty work, as you can imagine. There is always a layer of grey powder on everything, including our shoes. We have different molds and we spend the day mixing concrete and letting things set in the sun. It’s heavy work, lifting the finished tiles and stacking them up. We don’t have a fancy showroom; we just display the different patterns right there on the ground or leaning against the wall. People driving by see what we have and stop their cars to ask about prices. We don’t do any big advertising. The way the tiles look when they are done and sitting in a neighbor's yard is how people hear about us. We’ve been at this spot for a long time. The noise from the chowk is constant, but you get used to it after a few weeks. It’s just me and a couple of workers from the nearby village. We start early when it’s still cool outside. If you need some sturdy tiles for your house or a patch of ground, you can just find us by the Mandap. We will be there moving heavy stones around and getting things ready for the next batch.
