Century Cement

You can find us over at Bantala Bazar in the Angul district of Orissa. Our setup is a bit unique because we are located at the place of Mr. Indramani Sahu. It’s right in the heart of the market area, so there is always something going on outside. The sounds of the bazaar—people bartering, bells from the local temple, and the occasional motorcycle—come right through the windows. It’s a very local way to run a branch for Century Cement. We don’t have a big glass front or a fancy sign. It’s just a practical space where we handle our business. The dust from the Orissa roads is a constant presence, and we’re always sweeping the floors. Working in a place like Bantala means you know everyone who walks by. We stop and chat with the neighbors and the local shopkeepers throughout the day. The heat in Angul can be pretty intense, so we keep the windows open and hope for a breeze. We do our work on simple wooden desks, keeping track of the cement orders and the local deliveries. It’s not a complicated operation, but it requires a lot of attention to detail and a lot of patience. Most of us live just a short walk or a cycle ride away. We like the fact that our work is right here in the community where we live. It’s a plain and simple life, and we wouldn't have it any other way. We focus on getting things done.
