About Nurgins Brands Spices – Food & Beverages in Anantnag
We started this spice business right here in Village Anchidora quite a few years back. Our small building sits pretty close to the power station, so it is easy to find if you are coming from the main road. Most days, the air around our place smells strongly of ground turmeric or black pepper, depending on what we are processing that morning. My family has lived in this area for generations, and we just felt like grinding spices was a natural thing for us to do. It is hard work. We spend a lot of time cleaning the raw materials before they even touch the machines. The floor is usually covered in a fine layer of dust, and we have to sweep constantly. My brother handles most of the machinery while I take care of the people coming in and out. Sometimes the power cuts off, which slows us down, but that is just how it is living near the station. We don't have a big corporate office or anything. It's just us in a workshop-style room with our sacks of goods. People from the nearby farms stop by to buy their supplies for the month. We keep things simple and try to be honest with everyone who walks through the door. It is a noisy, messy, but okay way to make a living. We just keep our heads down and do the work every single day without much fuss.
